Advocacy & Policy: Empowering Change from Within
Advocacy and Public Policy leadership training is the first step in empowering our community to realize a powerful voice. Not only for ourselves, but for the global human team.
The Advocacy & Policy program is a cornerstone of ILIA’s mission to empower incarcerated individuals and advocate for systemic change. This initiative focuses on equipping participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to become effective advocates for themselves and their communities.
Our Goals
Empowerment through Education: We provide comprehensive training on the criminal justice system, policy making processes, and advocacy strategies. Participants learn how to navigate legal frameworks and influence policy changes that affect their lives.
Building Advocacy Skills: Through workshops and hands-on activities, participants develop critical skills in public speaking, writing, and organizing. These skills enable them to effectively communicate their experiences and advocate for reforms.
Creating Change: By fostering a deep understanding of the issues and providing tools for advocacy, we aim to create a network of informed and empowered individuals who can drive meaningful change within the criminal justice system.
Program Components
